Vietnam athletics team surpasses medals target at SEA Games 31

Athletes entered the fifth day of athletics competitions on May 18. Vietnam team won 3 more gold medals in the following events: The women's javelin throw of athlete Lo Thi Hoang (Thai ethnicity), the women's 10,000m run by Pham Thi Hong Le and the women's 4x400m relay, bringing the total number of gold medals in Vietnamese athletics to 19 golds, exceeding the original target of 15-17 gold medals.
