SEA Games 31: Vietnam snatch second consecutive win in women’s volleyball
The Vietnamese women’s indoor volleyball team delighted home fans with two consecutive wins at the ongoing SEA Games 31.
Quang Ninh, May 17 (VNA) – The Vietnamese women’s indoor volleyball team delighted home fans with two consecutive wins at the ongoing SEA Games 31.
Vietnam won 3-0 over Malaysia in a match held in the northeastern province of Quang Ninh on May 16.
The hosts defeated Indonesia 3-1 in their first match.
At 5pm on May 17, Vietnam will play Thailand, who are among the favourites to win the championship and in top 12 teams worldwide.
SEA Games 31, themed “For a Stronger South East Asia”, is being held in Hanoi and 11 neighbouring provinces and cities until May 23.
It features 40 sports with 523 events, attracting around 10,000 participants. The biennial event was initially slated for late 2021 but delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic./.
