Vietnam’s shooting team has set a target of winning between five and seven gold medals at the upcoming 31st Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 31). The team is full of hope to reach the target on the home soil after bagging 11 gold medals, 10 silvers and 13 bronzes at a pre-SEA Games tournament held on April 12-16 at the Hanoi National Sport Training Centre. SEA Games 30 in 2019 in the Philippines saw Vietnam placed low on the medal tally for shooting for the first time as the team secured only one gold and one silver in five categories. This year’s regional sport event will see some 300 athletes from nine countries competing for 22 sets of medals at the SEA Games from May 16-22. The host Vietnam will send a team of 28 marksmen to compete in all categories. VNA Photo: Vũ Sinh
